YAVP (Yet Another Viper Page)?

No, this is not a "normal" Viper page. There are already plenty of them and I don't want to reinvent the wheel. This is a page about a dream come true. And the best part of it: YOU can be part of it. You will have to go at the end of the page to make it happen. I do now have small donations from several people I do NOT know! Crazy! Make sure you read the "Q&A" below for important little details.

Since I saw the first viper (RT/10) in a magazine back then when it was presented to the public I was fallen in love. Then, when the GTS came out I first thought that the GTS was extremely "ugly". But it only took me a short time to change my mind, now I think that the GTS looks way better than the RT/10. Someone once said that the GTS looks like a "clown shoe" - it think he is somehow right but it's the best looking and sexiest clown shoe I've ever seen. If it's going to be a Viper it will be a GTS!
What about the new Viper - the SRT or the Coupe? No way! I'm sure is a "better" car but I was hoping the new coupe will look better, more aggressive, more unique - for the sake of the Viper! The pictures I saw from the "prototype" SRT Coupe are disappointing - while the competition coupe looks soooo cool. Why don't they (DC) just build the CC Coupe, with some minor street-legal corrections? At least does the 2008 version have a bit more horse power, but I'm still not convinced.

Dodge (Chrysler) VIPER GTS!!

Now we come to the main purpose of this page. I'm was in the situation of "apartment or viper". My wife clearly said "apartment" and she is right. But I hate the thought that now there won't be enough money for a Viper. Life is so damn short and we have only one try - no retry. Right here, right now. In other words:

I'm looking for money to make my lifetime-dream come true. My Viper-savings-plan needs some help.

As of September 27th 2007. Only $45'000 to go .With the current run-rate we reach the $45k in about 1'000 years :-))

It's not the amount that counts, it is the encouragement to fulfil a dream that counts. Thank you guys!

I will spend the money only on one of the following:

• A used Viper GTS Gen-2 (ACR)
• A single one day Viper GTS rental
• Donate all the money (full amount) to the following children charity organization: Les Amis de Svieta in the event I will not buy a Viper. Don't get me wrong, I'm NOT asking money for a good cause! This just means I will only spend it on a Viper - if not, I'll donate it to them.

When we have about half of it it will be doable! It doesn't have to be the full amount.

If I will not buy a Viper I will donate all the collected money to a charity that does help children (Les Amis de Svieta). I know these people personally and I can be SURE that the money will be spent what it is meant for. I will not spend the money otherwise. This is a promise and you can take my word on this. Again, don't get me wrong, I'm NOT asking money for a good cause! If you would like to donate for a good cause, donate to THEM. If requested, I will allow a trusted "third-party" to have a look at my Paypal account.

Q&A

Q: You lazy bastard! Go and get a job and start saving!
A: There must be some misunderstanding. I do work and I do save - more than average. I just thought that this is a funny idea.

Q: What will be next? Are you going to sell your family? What else is on sale?
A: NO WAY, they are worth way more than 1'000 vipers. They are my everything - just to make this one clear!

Q: So you don't have the money to buy it yet. Why not lease?
A: Either own it or nothing. It would be too tight with the mortgage, lease and all the other fix costs with two kids

Q: Not enough money to buy it? Will you be able to maintain it properly and give the required TLC?
A: Yes!

Q: Why "just" a used one and not just go for a new Viper?
A: Two reasons: I still don't like the look of the SRT nor Dodge's 2008 Viper SRT Coupe and second it is way too expensive.

Q: When will you buy a Viper?
A: When I wait for the donations to come, I'll be there in 1000 years. Guess I'll have to find some other financing possibilities as well if there will be no millionaire donating more than $21. Back to the original question - I hope to buy a viper no less than late 2008.

Q: Isn't it ethically wrong to ask for donations for a car?
A: This is actually my main concern. I then decided it is every persons own decision what to do with their money.

Q: What will you do with the money it you don't buy a Viper?
A: I will donate it to a child supporting charity - the full amount! Be aware, I'm not asking for money for a good cause! I will just donate it if it does not go towards a viper.

Q: Is this legal?
A: It is legal. If it is not legal in your country you are not allowed to donate.

Q: Will I get anything back when I donate?
A: Hello? This is a donation. You will get back nothing besides a good feeling :-). I MIGHT add a plate with engraved names of the top-20 donors in the engine bay. I MIGHT place an advertisement of people who donate on this page.

Q: Will the names of the donors be published?
A: If they ask for it. But not more like e.g. 20 names.
Wouldn't DLM / Doug Levin Motorsports, Sean Roe Racing, Jason Heffner, UGR - UnderGroundRacing.com, Paxton, Borla, Corsa, Archer Racing, TNT, SVS, BTR, BMR, Woodhouse, Buhler, Fitzgerald, Hennessey, etc. sound good on this list ("free" advertisement :-) ?

Q: Speaking of tuners, are you going to mod it?
A: A supercharger or turbo would be nice, but I guess I stick with "stock". Again a price issue :-)

Q: Would you donate?
A: Most likely yes because I think it is a funny idea. But just a few bucks :-)

Q: Why a Viper and not a Porsche, BMW M3, Toyota Supra, Lotus, Corvette or any other "super-car"?
A: It is one of these once-in-a-lifetime thing. NO other car 'touched' me like this. Vipers all the way.

Q: Did you sign up for one of those "win a viper"?
A: You mean those things that most likely only collect email address for a "SPAM-mailing-list" but you will never win? NO!

Q: Is it DOGE or DODGE?
A: Dodge :-)

Q: When did you start this project?
A: I started it on my birthday. September 16th, 2003. On September 29th it was 'reachable' by google

Q: Will you paint dolphins on it?
A: No way :-)

I can imagine, that once this page has been "detected" it will be discussed (or made jokes about it - hey, "bad publicity" is publicity as well) in one or the other forum like viperalley or viperclub (VCA).
